Reflection:
This standard is important because it keeps the momentum of technology
education rolling. A technology facilitator has to know what is "hot" and emerging. PowerPoint was so popular in the
past 3-5 years and know it is the norm. Everyone knows how to create one, especially the students. It had been proven that
traditional educational practices do not provide today's learners with the skills he or she will need when they enter the
workforce. Students must be knowledgeable about using technology to collaborate and communicate. Therefore technology facilitators
must keep the teachers informed. They must showcase best practices in technology integration in the curriculum. It was once
said that teachers are the worst students. It is definitely true. Technology facilitators not only need to keep teachers abreast
of emerging technology but also teach it effectively.
My two articfacts are a proposal for a workshop
I will actually be teaching this summer in my district and the power point I will be using. It shows Language Arts teachers
some very interesting ways of incorporating technology in writing instruction.
