Reflection:
The importance of this standard lies in the fact that there are thousands of lesson plans that incorporate technology floating around on the web. Maybe only 20% are actually useful and correlate with the ISTE standards. It is the technology facilitator's duty to help teachers identify and locate resources on the web that they can use with the hardware that is available. In my school we have 2 computer labs, each with 30 computers. Students signed in to the computer labs 24,000 times to use a computer this year. On the last day of school the system crashed because we did not have any space left on our server. The main reason is that 800 students created graphic and text rich powerpoint, some with 50 slides in each presentation. Our TF and teachers need to think of an alternate project that does not take up so much space or to have the students store their projects on CD-RW's or flashcards.
Many schools are limiited in the amount of computers and hardware available. One role of the TF is to maximize exposure to technology and help teachers utilize technology efficiently.
One artifact I have chosen for this standard is an Internet Notebook of websites I have found very useful. Each site listed has a URL link, a blurb about the intended audience and a description. As a TF I could update and post this Internet Notebook on my SchoolWires Website for the faculty to use as a resource.

The second artifact is an "employee manual" made using Microsoft Publisher for my students. Instead of entering a Language Arts Classroom this year, my students will be employed by Red Pen Publishing.  The "employee manual is the "underpainting" for a successful year, with helpful writiing tips and expected behaviors.
