Reflection: Standard III. is critical beacuse it makes us evaluate not just if we are using technology in the classroom, but how effectively we are using it. We must make sure we are making the use of technology meaningful and authentic. As educators, we must also keep in mind the diverse types of learners and how we can modify our curriculum not only to include technology but also to make sure every type of learner is engaged.  The artifact I have chosen for this standard is my Living Legends Webquest.  Webquests are wonderful beacuse they can be modified for any learner. Webquests start out with a structured "back bone" but allow students to make their own adventure as they acquire knowledge and make decisions. Becuase every learner works at their own pace in a webquest, it is easy to implement in a lab or in a classroom with limited amounts of time.

I have also included an Auto Bio Poem Template. I save this in my public share drive on my school's network.  Students can access these files in the lab or classroom. The Auto Bio poem is a poem about themselves that they can copy and paste into word and fill in the blanks. This method of students being able to cut and paste into their own folders has been very helpful with my basic skills classes who have difficulty copying things from the board.

We have to keep in mind that it is great to use technology in the classroom; we need to focus on why and how we are using it to enhance learning.  Integrating technology in the classroom is advantageous because today's students will be living and working in an fast paced, instantly gratifying information society.  We must make sure that they will be able to apply the skills we are teaching them to the real world.
