Pequod Builders
Roy Miller was the owner of Pequod Yachts through much of its fiberglass production. He had arranged to sell the
company to Bob Serfass. Before the company transferred, Roy was killed in a plane crash. The sale went through
and Bob moved the operation to York, ME. 1982 was the last model year for Pequod.

Horace "Red" Batchelder was the plant manager and kindly provided
the brochures and flyers to me. Thanks Red!

Howard Talmadge was the designer of Pequods mentioned in Red's letter above. He did not answer my letter and I
couldn't find a phone number for him.

The above is arrangement plan C.
These flyers say that the boat is 13,000 lbs. The "Boat Test 262" article in the December, 1977
Boating magazine says 17,275 lbs. with half fuel and water loads. So with full tanks she's 18,000
lbs. without people and provisions. My boat draws an honest 3-feet as opposed to the 2' 8" in the spec.
