Min K2MB Jack K3IHA (SK)
Field Day operations for this year were dedicated to the memory of Jack Castree, K3IHA, an Maryan Bouchard, K2MB. (SK).
The Field Day Chairman this year was Lou, KA2NTT. We operated along with the Cape May County Amateur Radio Club from the Canale Training Center on English Creek Ave. in Egg Harbor Township. There were 42 members from both clubs that assisted in one way or another this year with FD.
There were 1092 contacts made (last year 892 contacts) with the breakdown as follows:
CW 560
PHONE 513
DIGITAL 19
We operated 5F from SNJ with a power multiplier of 2 because all contacts were made using less than 150 watts. CW and digital contacts count for 2 pts. each. Phone contacts are worth 1 pt. each. Therefore our total QSO pts. equal (2 x 560) + (2 x 19) + 513 = 1671. Multiplying 1671 x 2 (our power multiplier) = our claimed score of 3342. To this value we add bonus points for 100% emergency power (500 pts.), media publicity (100 pts.), set-up in public place (100 pts.), information booth (100 pts.), site visit by invited served agency official (100 pts.), W1AW FD message copied (100 pts.), natural power QSOs completed (100 pts.), youth participation (40 pts.), GOTA bonus (80 pts.) and FD entry submitted via the web (50 pts.). This raises our claimed score to 4612 (last year 3748). The FD message was copied by W2OB, W2KP, N4XAT and KB2MN. The breakdown by band was as follows:
Band Contacts
80 meter 232
40 meter 330
20 meter 308
15 meter 152
10 meter 16
GOTA 54
