Taekwon-Do is the Korean art of self-defense.  It was founded by the late General Choi Hong Hi, former President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation.  General Choi integrated an ancient form of Korean foot fighting with Japanese karate, forming a highly scientific and yet very natural martial art.

This training is known as one of the best means of developing and enhancing the emotional, perceptual and psychological characteristics that enable generations, regardless of age, social status or sex, to effectively learn and participate with peers, at work and at play.

Taekwon-Do emphasizes self-defense, the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.  It also achieves patience and the resolve to overcome any difficulty.  It aims at noble moral rearmament, a high degree of intellectual achievement, graceful techniques, and formidable power and beauty of physical form.
