This hulking creature is over 9 feet tall. It has a thick mottled brown hide and wears a suit of banded mail armor, carries an ornate, but menacing looking, halberd, and has a heavy crossbow hanging on his back.

Ogre mameluks are disciplined soldiers that serve as the elite soldiers of the Empire of Hueshala and are slaves owned by Emperor Gannon VII. They are the product of centuries of breeding and indoctrination and are for the most part unquestionably loyal to their masters.

Ogre mameluks are obedient and relatively mild mannered outside of battle. This makes them effective bodyguards and highly effective soldiers. Their entire life is spent in service to one of the Nine Phalanxes, breeding is an honor reserved for the best soldiers, but the primary goal of all ogre mameluks is to dutifully serve the Emperor of Hueshala. In fact, among the ogre mameluks the Emperor of Hueshala is worshipped as a deity.

Adult ogre mameluks stand 9 to 10 feet tall and weigh 600 to 650 pounds. There skin color ranges from dull yellow to dark brown. They are always attired in the armor and clothing appropriate to their legion and always keep well groomed.

Ogre mameluks speak High Hueshalan, and those who have Intelligence scores of at least 10 also speak Giant.

COMBAT
Ogre mameluks are well trained and work effectively as a group. In battle the goal of ogre mameluks is to totally crush enemies with overwhelming brutal force. Obedience is the hallmark of ogre mameluks and they will execute any order with zeal, as death in service to an order is seen as the key to reaching the afterlife.

Fanatical loyalty: Ogre mameluks get a +2 bonus versus mind-affecting spells that are in opposition to orders they are following. Additionally, any orge mameluks receive a +1 to attack, damage, and saving throws were carrying out an order personally given to them by the Emperor of Hueshala.

ORGE KNIGHTS OF CARTESCA
About two hundred years ago, the 3rd Phalanx rebelled and marched into Cartesca and pledged their devotion to the King of Cartesca. They were rewarded by Cartesca with a land grant of a swamp between Cartesca and Hueshala and thus were born the ogre knights of Cartesca. The ogre knights are mechanically the same as the ogre mameluks except that their alignment is usually lawful good and they worship the king of Cartesca instead of the emperor of Hueshala. Ogre mameluks detest the ogre knights more than anything and long to the destroy they, while the ogre knights long to free their brothers from oppression.

OGRE MAMELUKS AS CHARACTERS
Ogre mameluks possess the following racial traits.
- +10 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +6 Constitution, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma
- Large size. -1 penalty to Armor Class, -1 penalty on attack rolls, -4 penalty on Hide checks, +4 bonus on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits double those of Medium characters.
- Space/Reach: 10 feet/10 feet.
- An ogre mameluk has a base land spell of 40 feet.
- Darkvision out to 60 feet.
- Racial Hit Dice: An ogre mameluk begins with four levels of giant, which provides 6d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +4, and base saving though bonuses of Fort +5, Ref +2, and Will +2.
- Racial Skills: The giant levels of an ogre mameluk give it skill points equal to 9 x (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Its class skills are Climb, Intimidate, Listen, and Spot.
- Racial Feats: The giant levels of an ogre mameluk give it three feats.
- Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An ogre is automatically proficient with simple, weapons, martial weapons, light, medium, and heavy armor, and shields.
- +5 natural armor bonus.
