Give some credit and thanks where it is due.
I am going to thank a few people that I feel should get a little recognition.
First,
I would like to thank Kenny Rollins for all the work he has done to support disc golf and I really want to thank him for helping
me with the computer. If anyone out there thinks I have been doing this on my own, you are wrong. But, I’m getting better.
Kenny has taught me at least 88% {no pun intended} of what I have done and know on the Computer. For sure if it weren’t
for him I would not have this web site. Thanks Ken!
Second, I would like to thank Carlton Howard for all he has done for disc golf and with the rules of disc golf. And I really want to thank him for the
kind and generous words that are on my Hall of Fame Plaque. It really meant a lot to me to have Adele’s name on the
plaque, because if it weren’t for her I would not be there in the first place.
Third, I want to thank Adele’s Mom and Dad for having her, raising
her right and accepting me into their family. I’m sure at first they had second thoughts, this long haired hippie looking
thing driving a van, that had been married before. I know I would have had second thoughts. I guess they are a pretty good
judge of character. Anyway thanks Frank and Frances!
Fourth, even though they are no longer with us I want to thank my Mom and Dad
for raising me right, making me go to church {a lot of the stuff that you don’t really pay attention too does stick
in your head} and teaching me to be honest and respectful. Thanks! Also thanks
to my Sunday school teacher, Marge Porter. She was a great teacher to hundreds and hundreds of little kids like myself, plus
a great person and a dear friend of my moms.
Fifth, I want to thank 2 of my sisters. They made a big impact early on
in my life. They are part of the reason I am the person I am today. Thanks Avenelle and Anna Jean!
I am pretty much self taught Frisbee/Disc Golf player. But sixth, I would like to thank Dave Greenwell, my strongest
competitor in the 80's and 90's for showing me the power grip. It added at least 15 to 20 yards to my distance. Thanks
Dave!
Seventh, I would like to thank
my 5th grade teacher, Mrs Donahue. I wish I could have told her how much I thought of her before she passed away. She was
the best teacher I ever had and a great person. She gave everybody that she taught a little testament and I still have
mine. Thanks Mrs. Donahue!
Eighth and last, but not least, I want to thank the one person that has
been my life for the past 30 years. Thank you for believing in me from day one. Thanks for putting up with all the Disc Golf
that I have played, the hours and hours that I have spent at the practice basket. Thanks for putting up with all the crap
that I have done down through the years. Thanks for not bitching at me about not having the house finished, if it weren’t
for Disc Golf it would be done. I could go on for days, but I won’t. Thanks for being the person you are, for marrying
me and sticking with me. Thank you Adele, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.
These aren't in any particular order except I saved the best and most important for
last.
