  • Topics of interest/need pertaining to family and community wellness are identified by individuals who represent a variety of community-based organizations throughout Latin America. Ongoing contact is maintained between ICFamWell’s director and service providers in Latin America; this facilitates the process of prioritizing resources, which ICFamWell can provide to support local programs.

Professionals working in the Family Therapy field who have a potential interest in volunteering are identified throughout the year. We seek individuals who have a particular interest in sharing resources and expertise in our neighboring "Americas".

  • We utilize "El Centro Integral de la Familia"(CIF) - Center for Integrated Family Services - located in Quito, Ecuador as our coordinating hub for trainings, collaborative meetings and the distribution of clinical resources to other parts of Latin America.
  • Click on the link below to visit CIF's website.

In partnership with CIF, we also conduct international "congresos" which invite participants from all over Ecuador and neighboring countries, representing grassroots programs from other Latin American countries as well. Because all teaching is donated, we are able to provide this educational, collaborative forum at minimal cost to participants

  • Cross-cultural support is provided to all volunteers in preparation for their service trip to Latin America. Interpreter services are provided as needed. All written resources provided to programs in Latin America are translated into Spanish by paid and volunteer translators. Meetings are conducted with volunteer presenters to format instructional content prior to all service trips.
  • Transportation and related costs for service trips are covered through generous donations of individuals who support efforts to promote global family wellness. Professionals participate as volunteers with Intercultural Coalition for Family Wellness and are not compensated monetarily for their time or work.
  • As volunteer clinicians share their resources through CIF, affiliated programs often request  additional on-site training and resource development.
