How can you help?
We are looking for mental health professionals who are interested in volunteering by sharing their expertise in
individual/family and community work in a manner that inspires, educates and collaborates with service providers in Latin
America. Through this grassroots level of teaching and exchange, information is shared on many levels which allows for
a broader range of applications with a higher yield of positive outcomes for families and communities.
Volunteers are also sought who can provide written resources (preferably translated into Spanish) which pertain to theoretical
and practice approaches on a variety of topics related to family and community wellness. Resources include professional
articles, clinical manuals and texts as well as training videos.
Information is most frequently requested regarding:
Effective models of Family Therapy-theory and practice
Substance abuse and treatment
Family violence
Sexual Abuse/incest in families
Trauma- theory and recovery models
Gang violence
Models of collaboration across disciplines
Mental illness- individual and family approaches
Life cycle issues in families
Child and adolescent treatment
