As
a child, David Burdick was fortunate to grow up in a church that taught him about God's love and His plan of salvation. David made a commitment to Christ in his teenage years when he recognized the
importance of having God in his life. David has had the opportunity to share
the gift of music since he was just 11 years old. David has always sung his favorite genre of music, Southern
Gospel, which he appreciates because of the simplicity in the lyrics and the way that a song can speak to someone in
need of encouragement.
David has traveled with very talented and committed people throughout his life. During his teenage years, David
sang in trios and quartets, both mixed and all-male, and he was one of the founding members of the Northern Lights from East
Branch, New York when the group was formed in 1986. David was also
a member of the Helmsmen from Owego, New York for three years. He has had the privilege of sharing the stage at concerts with Southern Gospel
artists such as; The Dixie Melody Boys, Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Freemans, The Florida Boys, LuLu Roman, The Dixie Echoes,
The Jacobs Brothers, Chuck Day, The Puffers and Mended Wings. David is an active member at his home church and
sings with the worship team when he is not traveling and singing.
Beginning his solo ministry in 2003, David has had the opportunity to sing in numerous venues including outdoor
concerts, special events, benefits Christian coffeehouses and church services.
Twice David has attended the Steve Hurst School of Ministry (2006 and
2007) in Nashville, TN. During his time at the Steve Hurst School, he received instruction and training from members
of some of the most well-known groups in Southern Gospel Music; The Talley Trio, The Mark Trammell Trio, Hope's Call,
The Brown's, The Martins, Tribute Quartet and additionally, a host of talented individuals who are members of the
faculty.
In 2008 and 2009, David attended the Christian Music Conference in Murray,
Kentucky which is conducted under the direction of Dr. Charles Novell. During the graduation ceremony both
years at the CMC, David was selected by the class to receive the "Mr. Congeniality" award.
Since David began his solo ministry, he has had the opportunity to record four CD’s, completing his latest project,
“Send Down A Blessing”, in January of 2008. David is currently working on his fifth and sixth recordings
which will simultaneously be released during 2009.
