Smooth Sailing in August
Good morning voters!
Hasn't the weather been glorious? There's nothing like August in Maine. Great weather for going door-to-door
in Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Richmond!
At this writing, I'm up to about 1,200 doors out of a little over 4,000 in the district. And on our direct e-mail
list of active supporters, we now number over 200.
The response I have received from those answering their doors has been phenomenal. It is truly as invigorating
and as motivating as the August weather itself. Folks genuinely appreciate that a candidate wants to hear their priorities
and concerns, and share these both candidly and copiously. In fact, I have already filled 4 notebooks with my chicken-scratch
shorthand. My personal road map for the 123rd Legislature!
Accountability, hard work, and a willingness to represent ALL the voters from a common-sense standpoint, are among the
traits I aspire to as your representative in Augusta. Please contact me anytime: whether in the glorious days we enjoy
now, or the chilly -- and to us Mainers, equally invigorating -- winter to come.
Yours for today and tomorrow,
Seth

HOW BAD IS IT, DOC? -- NY Times Interactive Map of State Budget Shortfalls in the U.S.
Note: most states have major budget shortfalls. Those that do not are largely states with strong fossil
fuel (TX, AK, WY, WV) or food (IN, SD, OR, WA) based economies.

As your State Representative, I use this site as another way to keep
you informed and to hear from you. I believe strong communication and a willingness to
work across party lines are critical as we work to move Maine forward.
