Time for Wind - Part II
Tonight and tomorrow night, Maine's Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) will hold yet another set of hearings on
a proposed wind installation, at which opponents concerned for their "unspoiled viewshed" will fight strenously.
Unlike Don Quijote -- who lost his battles against windmills -- the opponents of these projects stand a chance.
Tonight and tomorrow's hearings, at 6 pm at Sugarloaf ski resort, are open to the public. Anyone can attend and
express their support or opposition to this proposal for a wind installation in Kibby Township. Another option is to
contact the Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC@maine.gov)immediately, with a brief statement, as well as a name and address.
For additional details on Kibby and other wind proposals, the Natural Resources Council of Maine website (www.nrcm.org) is an excellent resource.
All the best,
Seth

Note: most states have major budget shortfalls. Those that do not are largely states with strong fossil
