BACKGROUND
Daniel J. Shaw learned his craft by studying for a number of years with
Copley Master Mark Hayden of Bradford, MA.
He has won a number awards for his work and many of his paintings now reside in private collections. His work has
been accepted in a number of juried shows, at the Newburyport Art Association and elsewhere. Most recently he is actively
involved with “The Newburyport Ten”, a plein air painting group with the Newburyport Art Association. His landscapes
depict scenes from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont,
Monhegan Island, Maine,
Mt. Desert Island, Maine as well as Ireland and the Yukon Territory in Canada. He works primarily in oil, but also in watercolor and pastel.
