BACKGROUND
Daniel J. Shaw learned his craft by
studying for a number of years with Copley Master Mark Hayden of Bradford,
MA. He has won a number awards for his work and many of his paintings
now reside in private collections. His work has been accepted in many juried shows in New England. Most recently he is
actively involved with the“Newburyport Ten”, a plein air painting group of the Newburyport Art Association http://www.newburyportten.com . His landscapes show many scenes from Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
Monhegan Island, Maine,
Mt. Desert Island, Maine as well as Ireland and the Yukon Territory in Canada. He works primarily in oil, but also in watercolor and pastel.
