Earl Francis Bartling, Jr.

     KEYSER, W.VA. – Earl Francis Bartling, Jr., 82, of 310 Valley View Avenue, Keyser and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

     Born December 21, 1925, he was a son of the late Earl F. Bartling, Sr. and Althea (Hovie) Reed.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth B. Lane.

     Mr. Bartling was a retired pharmaceutical representative, a private police security agent and an U.S. Army veteran.   He was a member of the National Rifle Associate, an expert marksman and a devout Republican.  He was protestant by faith and although he had been living in the area a short time, he was warmly received by the members of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Westernport, MD.

     Surviving are his two daughters, Reverend Sally L. Bartling of Keyser and Caryl J. Ferrel of Vineland, NJ; his son, David E. Bartling of Somerset, PA; his two grandchildren, Kristin Ferrel Hartman and Seaman Matthew Ferrel, USCG; and a great-grandson, Kyle Hartman. 

     Friends will be received Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport from 1 to 2 p.m.  Funeral Services will be conducted immediately after the visitation at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Sally L. Bartling officiating.

     Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
