Mary L. Deegan

     KEYSER, W.Va. – Mary L. Deegan, 86, a resident of Heartland and formerly of 88 D Street, Keyser, died on Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Nursing Home.   

     Born August 5, 1921, in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Dennis A. and Hallie G. (Hoover) Collins.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John T. Deegan in 1981 and four sisters.

     Mrs. Deegan retired in 1952 after 10 years of service as a registered, private duty nurse at Potomac Valley Hospital and a homemaker.  She was a member of the Church of the Assumption of Keyser and Boyce House Post 41, American Legion Auxiliary.  

     Surviving are her sister, Angela M. Dorsey and husband, Marion and a special nephew, Shaun P. Dorsey and wife Robin, all of Keyser.  She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

     At Mrs. Deegan's request, her body will be cremated and there will be no viewing.  

     A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R. as celebrant.

     Inurnment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
