Helen L. Dorsey

PINCH, WV - Helen L. Dorsey, 84, of Pinch, WV and formerly of Lynmar Street, Keyser, died on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV.

Born October 3, 1924 in Wheeling, WV, she was the daughter of Harry L. and Clara (Aberegg) Dunlap.

Mrs. Dorsey retired from Dr. Paul Healy’s office and was a former employee of Potomac Valley Hospital and Ohio Valley Hospital, Wheeling. She was a graduate of Union High School class of 1941, Potomac State College class of 1944 and St. Thomas Hospital School of Medical Technology, Akron, Ohio class of 1945. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption and attended Our Lady of the Hills and St. Agnes Catholic Churches.

Surviving are her husband William “Bill” T. Dorsey; a daughter Sara Cavileer of Charleston; a son Michael “Mike” Dorsey and wife Cathy of Pinch; four grandchildren, Jonas Cavileer and wife Christina of Mesa, AZ, Jared Cavileer of Columbus, OH, Piper Dorsey of Charleston and Meredith Dorsey of Charleston and 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Lynn Dorsey and Jamison Patrick Cavileer. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Dorsey of Keyser; two sisters-in-law, Jean Quinn and husband Francis “Joe” of Keyser and Helena “Sis” Barrick and husband Walter of Fort Myers, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
