
Gladys L. Kenney
Born February 15, 1908, early on a frosty morn, just outside of Keyser
in
Years
later, she would be known and loved by so many Keyser residents. Keyser High students remember her as the
lady who gave them a glass of sweet tea when they came into her back yard to
retrieve a ball mistakenly launched from the school grounds. Yet, others will remember her as Joy Lee's Mom
hosting a tea for all the Misses, while some will remember her friendly hello
and smile, the neighbor sweeping in front of her home on
She
was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Keyser and a former member
of the Keyser Normans Club.
Mrs. Kenney is survived by one daughter Joy
Lee Dixon Hartman of Thomasville, Georgia, two grandsons, Gregory P. Dixon, and
Gary T. Dixon, two grand daughters In-law, Sandra Dixon, and Mary Dixon and four
great-grandchildren, Brad Dixon, Clint Dixon, Michael Dixon, and Katie Dixon.
Friends will be received Friday, February 15, 2008 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser. Funeral
Services will be held immediately after the visitation at 11 a.m. with the
Reverend Bart Thompson officiating.
Internment
will follow in Queens'
