
Carrie L. Lawrence
KEYSER, W.Va.
- Carrie L. (Green) Lawrence,
81, of 1320 Terri Street,
Keyser, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Heartland of Keyser.
Born May 4, 1927 in Sulphur, she was a daughter of the late
Charles S. and Rosa H. (Sharpless) Green.
She was also preceded in death by her husband William Lawrence on June
29, 1979, a daughter Patricia Ann Lawrence, an infant brother Earl Green, and
three sisters: infant Leona Green, Faye Hortch and
Velma Green and a very devoted friend Charles E. Paugh, Jr. Carrie was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.
Mrs. Lawrence was a retired teacher and
teacher's aid from Mineral County Schools Elementary and High Schools in Elk Garden. Carrie was a graduate of Elk Garden High School, Potomac State College and Shepherd College.
She was a Methodist by faith, and a member of Retired Teacher's
Association and Mineral County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her two sons, William A.
Lawrence and wife Cheryl of Shepherdstown and James E. Lawrence and wife
Barbara of Keyser and her three grandchildren, Tiffany, Erin and Eric Lawrence
that were the apples of her eye and she was very proud of their achievements. She is also survived by a number of nieces
and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser on Thursday, May 8,
2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, May 9, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11
a.m. with the Reverend Daniel Sears, Reverend Vickie Minnich, and Christine
Kuhn officiating. Interment will follow
in Kalbaugh Cemetery,
Elk Garden.
