Georgia T. Rucker

     KEYSER, W.Va. – Georgia (Tasker) Rucker 85, of 1415 Terri Street, Keyser, died Thursday, September 18, 2008.

     Born April 21, 1923 in Luke, MD, she was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Mamie (Miles) Tasker.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas McVay and a daughter Constance Culp on April 28, 2005.

      Georgia was a co-owner of the former Village Card Shop in Keyser and former employee of Kenny Shoes in D.C. and Clinton Bootery in Clinton, MD.  She was a 1941 Keyser High Graduate and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Council, a member of United Methodist Women, Sunday Morning Study Group and after school program.

      Surviving are her husband James W. “Jim” Rucker, her son, David E. Rucker of LaPlata, MD; five grandchildren, Christopher Jo McVay, Justin Rucker, Jared Rucker,  Jeremiah Rucker and Lisa Connor; four great grandchildren, Nichole McVay, Kyle McVay, Billy Connor and Ashley Connor; and a brother, Jack Tasker and wife Tess of Keyser and several nieces and nephews.

     Friend will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Vickie K. Minnich officiating.
