Alfreda Susan Shoemaker

KEYSER, W.Va.Alfreda Susan Shoemaker, 62 of Keyser, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at her residence.

Born on September 8, 1946 in Beryl, WV, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Rudolph and Vila Susan (Smiley) Kasmier. Four brothers, Rudolph, James, Franklin, Elden and two sisters, Vivian Rosier and June Ann Hotchkiss also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Terry Shoemaker of Clarksville, TN and her daughter, Corina (Shoemaker) Neff and husband Acie of Coolville, OH. She is also survived by one sister, Gloria Louise Bernard of Swanton, MD and one brother, Jesse Kasmier of Halltown, WV; and two granddaughters, Kara and Marissa Shoemaker, both of Clarksville, TN.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends whom she loved dearly.

She was a gracious and loving mother and a dedicated homemaker to her children.  Through her, we learned a lot about caring, love and sharing.  We were truly blessed to have her as a mother whom we admired and respected. Not just as a mother, but a supportive friend.  A warm hearted friend to those around her, always more willing to give than to receive.  Even in sickness, always looking for a way to help others.    Admired for her strength and ability to stay positive and full of faith, even in tough times. A courageous woman with a wonderful sense of humor and a strong sense of family values.  She will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends, but we know that she is with Jesus now, walking those golden streets of glory in heaven above.  Her battle with cancer is over and she is resting forever in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Memorial Service will be held at Grace Ministry Church, 400 Seymour Street, Cumberland, MD, Wednesay, April 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. with the Pastor John W. Thomas officiating.  Directions: 220S to 68E, get off at Industrial Blvd. exit 43B, go straight through light at Virginia Ave., take 2nd left onto Seymour St. and go 2 blocks.  Church is on the corner of 4th and Seymour Streets on the right.
