Teresa L. Szafran

KEYSER, W.Va. - Teresa L. Szafran, 90, a resident of Heartland and formerly of 500 Carskadon Lane, Keyser, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the nursing home.

Born September 15, 1918, in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Ilario and Mary Angela (Alvaro) Fazzalore. She was also preceded in death by her husband Stanley Anthony Szafran on December 24, 1963; three brothers, Larry, Joe and Dee Fazzalore and two sisters, Mary Mele and Rose Fazzalore.

Mrs. Szafran was retired from Keyser Garment Company. She was a 1936 graduate of Keyser High School and a member of the Church of the Assumption and Mineral County Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her son Stanley J. “Stan” Szafran and his wife Sue Ellen of Keyser and her daughter Melinda S. McBride and husband Phillip of Earlysville, VA; two grandchildren, Corey A. Szafran of Baltimore, MD and Christopher C. Szafran of Shepherdstown, WV; a sister Lena Landis of Keyser and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R. as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.

A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
