Lawn Chair Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park

The Port Chester Council for the Arts
and the Port Chester Recreation Department present
Lawn Chair Theatre's production of
AS YOU LIKE IT
by William Shakespeare
“Men have died from time to time, and worms have eaten them, but not for love.”
Banished
from the kingdom by a tyrannous and usurping Duke, Rosalind, Celia and others flee to the forest of Arden –an uncharted
wilderness outside the realm of law and order. In Arden, the laws of love and living are turned upside down. Free to reinvent
themselves, its inhabitants stumble through the forest’s mazes, pursue their desires for better or worse, and find “tongues
in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.”
We guarantee:
Live
music, fights to the death, clowns, gypsies, hippies, philosophers, women dressed as men, mistaken identities, unrequited
love, bad poetry, angry brothers, trusty sidekicks, and of course, a happy ending.
