Synopsis of The Play
Twelfth
Night is a wistful romantic comedy concerning the fate of twin siblings Viola and Sebastian. Separated from her brother in
a shipwreck, Viola is washed ashore in the unknown territory of Illyria, where she is soon entangled with the brooding Count
Orsino and the aloof Countess Olivia in a web of love, obsession and mistaken identity. Along the way, she encounters a dizzying
array of local denizens including the countess's drunken uncle and foppish would-be suitor, her supercilious steward, her
melancholic jester and a marauding local pirate in a series of encounters and imbroglios ranging from the madcap to the malicious,
some musical and others martial.
