Email on Research Paper Topic

Your assignment is to send an email to your professor in which you state the topic that you intend to research for your research paper (which is due toward the end of the semester). The email address is jvonschilling@northampton.edu.

 

Be sure to write a professional-level email, as if you were writing to a boss, co-worker, client or customer.  Read pages 69-79 in your textbook for guidelines on writing professional-level email.

 

The following are the guidelines for choosing your research paper topic:

 

 1) Must be a topic in your major or career field--but the paper cannot be about the career or job itself

 

 2) Must be a current or recent topic

 

 3) Must be narrowed down to a specific topic (for a 1500-2500 word paper)

 

 4) Cannot be covered in detail in another course you’re taking

 

 5)  Must have available sources for research: in particular, periodical articles and Internet sites in your field

 

 6)  Must be at a level you understand

 

 ***7)  Should be a topic that is interesting and/or worthwhile for you to research
