Our History
Orbital Sound has remained independent since its inception in 2004. Our business drive centers on our primary
goal of music making a difference. It is our aim to be involved in a socially important and creative way with something
bigger than just a label or studio division. Orbital Sound is part of a new breed of 21st century internet-based creative
media companies with our music activities centered around community, commerce and connectivity.
Indie labels have been the music industry's alternative choice of artists and fans for more than fifty years. Indies,
like Orbital Sound Records, continue to keep their ear to the street to discover new talent and share that obsession
with like-minded souls. We hope that you enjoy the indieculture vibe here at OSR and help support our hunger for finding new
music and emerging artists to bring to you. The Orbital Sound Record label is artist driven and allows bands full creative
control.
OSR is proud of its commitment to the One World Beat Festival (2004 - 2006) and to the Daniel Pearl Music Day
Festival (2004 - 2007). In 2007, OSR secured a Daniel Pearl World Music Days Proclamation from New York Governor
Eliot Spitzer. Locally, we are the proud co-sponser of The Earlville Opera House Youth Singer-Songwriter Showcase (2007
- 2008) as well as The Skyway Festival and Fund (2008-2009) that benefits students in the music and arts programs at Hamilton
Central School. We are also very proud of our fans for supporting OSR's efforts in the past five years to raise money and
awarness for children with HIV/AIDS, to help build schools for children in Haiti, and for Tsunami and Katrina relief donations.
