We can help by providing you with a complete digital audio solution package. Orbital Sound Studios offers an industry-standard digital production suite that will satisfy your studio needs. The Pro Tools LE 8 solution at Orbital Sound Studios gives your projects the audio and MIDI production power you need to achieve pro results quickly and easily. Full-fledged production work for CDs, including tracking, mixing, and mastering in an exciting and powerful creative environment happens at Orbital Sound Studios.

Pro Tools session rates

Studio Pro Tools sessions are billed at $12.50 per hour plus sales tax. One hour minimum charge. $99.00 day rate. This rate includes the following amenities: - Engineer - Hard Drive back up and safety copy of files (for internal studio use only) Remote Pro Tools sessions are billed at $12.50 per hour plus sales tax. A standard mileage rate of $0.505 cents per mile plus tolls and parking fees shall be in effect. One hour minimum charge. $99.00 day rate. This rate includes the following amenities: - Engineer - Hard Drive back up and safety copy of files (for internal studio use only)

This rate is effective January 1, 2009 and supersedes all past published studio rates.

1.  For payment we accept personal checks, money orders or bank checks. Additionally we accept Paypal payments. Credit cards are not a method of payment at this time.

Archival and recording media rates

We know how important your music is and we try to make sure that your projects are preserved for years to come. That's why we offer CD/DVD digital data storage for your important work. We also offer on-site studio Hard Drive storage at an additional rate of $0.0016 per megabyte. Be sure to ask the studio manager about it.

Materials rates

Materials are not included in studio cost. However, we can provide you with the materials needed to facilitate your session at a small cost to you. Costs for renting ancillary equipment, if available

Ancillary equipment and software effects licenses may be obtained by the studio for client use. In such cases the rental charges will include a one percent (1%) service fee.

• NEW! Online rental licenses — Use this option to rent many eligible plug-ins in 2-, 14-, and 31-day increments. Plug –in software rental licenses are deposited into Orbital Sound’s iLok.com account in real time and become available for immediate use in sessions.

Deposit requirements

For new clients and those who have established a perfect prior payment history, we at Orbital Sound Studios feel that demanding full payment in advance is not reasonable. Instead, we ask for a deposit equal to one-third of the Orbital Sound Studios full-day rate for each day a client wants to reserve a studio session.

-       The deposit rate in effect as of January 1, 2009 is $30.00.

-      Orbital Sound Studios will apply the client's deposit as a credit toward their bill, if a session goes as scheduled.

Some studios require a deposit in all instances from each of their clients, but Orbital Sound Studios has decided to place limited trust in established clients who have a long and perfect payment history with Orbital Sound Studios. For this group, Orbital Sound Studios will relax the deposit requirement for reserving a single session and will only insist on receiving a deposit if clients want to book multiple dates, either in onecontiguos block or scattered across the calendar.

If a formerly reliable client cancels a session with insufficient notice for Orbital Sound Studios to book with someone else, Orbital Sound Studios will require a deposit from him or her thereafter for any and all sessions they wish to reserve.

Of course, Orbital Sound Studios will always make an exception if the cancellation was necessary because of illness or a family emergency.

Orbital Sound Studios almost always requires a deposit from first-time clients. Orbital Sound Studios will waive the deposit requirement for first-time clients only if they contact Orbital Sound Studios from out of town at the eleventh hour to reserve a date that Orbital Sound Studios has open and that is not otherwise likely to be booked (that is, when there is insufficient time before the session for their deposit to arrive by mail or FedEx).

For clients who have cancelled sessions repeatedly in the past, even with plenty of notice, Orbital Sound Studios will always require full payment in advance to reserve any session dates. The same policy applies to clients who have had trouble paying their studio bill in the past, whether or not they have ever cancelled any dates.

If a client cancels a scheduled session with less than 48 hours notice before the session begins, and Orbital Sound Studios is unable to book the cancelled date with an alternative client who previously requested the same date, Orbital Sound Studios will politely insist that the client who cancelled forfeit their deposit.

1.      Orbital Sound Studios will not keep the deposit if orbital Sound Studios manages to book the cancelled date with another client. Nor will Orbital Sound Studios keep the deposit if nobody else was interested in the cancelled date. Orbital Sound Studios will keep the deposit only if Orbital Sound Studios turned down another client for the same date, subsequently suffered a cancellation, and lost business income because Orbital Sound Studios could not rebook with the client Orbital Sound Studios previously denied.

 

Orbital Sound Studios will always forgive a last-minute cancellation if an Orbital Sound Studios client falls ill or has a family emergency. That is only fair. However, clients who conveniently become sick or suffer family “emergencies” time and again on the eve of reserved sessions will be subject to stiffer deposit requirements and penalties for cancellations.

Billing for late arrivals and no-shows

At Orbital Sound Studios the “clock” starts rolling within 20 minutes of the scheduled session start time. That is, if a client has still not arrived 20 minutes after the session’s scheduled start time, Orbital Sound Studios will begin billing them at the full rate from that moment on.

If a client is more than 20 minutes late for a session, Orbital Sound Studios will call them to see if they are on their way. Once enough billable time has elapsed for the full amount of the client’s deposit for the day’s session to accrue, Orbital Sound Studios will cancel the remainder of the session.

When payments are due

Orbital Sound Studios requires that the majority of clients pay any outstanding balance, minus the deposit amount, on receipt of invoice for each single session or, in the case of multiple bookings, on receipt of invoice at the end of a contiguous block of sessions. This arrangement gives clients a convenience incentive to book back-to-back dates.

1.      Orbital Sound Studios will give select clients who represent large accounts and who have a long and perfect payment history greater flexibility in paying their studio bill. Such clients may pay their balance within 30 days, instead of being required to pay their balance in full immediately upon receipt of invoice after each session or block of sessions.

2.      Orbital Sound Studios will never release finished product – even to clients who have a perfect credit history – before receiving full payment for work performed to date. Orbital Sound Studios has no problem with releasing rough mixes upon receiving a signed promise to pay any balance due, but final mixes and mastered product are never released until Orbital Sound Stusios receives payment in full for the work.

Penalties for bounced checks

1.  A check returned to us by our bank due to insufficient funds in your account will incur a $20.00 Orbital Sound fee plus the fee assessed by our bank, Citizens Bank, NA.

2.  All payments after such an occurrence must be made by certified bank check, money order or cash.
