I dreamt  I took "Doncella" close by Delaware  light
The ghostly face of the  keeper  a foreboding sight
                        The rocks were alee
But for a change in  roiling sea
I was about to pay the fee

Then a merciful wave took my ship to hand
Lifting prow and tiller away from land
Away we sailed, safe into the night
With shaken crew to anchor in the bight

NARROWBOATING IN THE UK

Narrowboating in the United Kingdom. There are over two thousand miles of canal in Great Britain. The canal boats that ply this water network are built long and narrow in order to fit through the ancient lock system. Narrowboats typically are 40' to 72' long with a 6'10" beam. They are made of steel plate and are diesel powered. Maximum speed on the canal is 4 MPH.
Click on the photo of the narrowboat  above right for a video of one of the beautiful and most popular canals, the Llangollen, which runs through the West Midlands area.
