Buddy

Dudley Jasper Armitage, better known as Little Buddy was born in 1989 to Dawson and Aimee Armitage in the little town of Eden, located in the northeast kingdom of Vermont.

Buddy attended the local schools and later went to collage in St. Johnsbury, Vermont where he majored in forestry and became a Forest Ranger.

Buddy first meets Grizz at the age of 10 in 1995, when he accompanied his parents to Yellowstone Park where the adventures begin.

Two years later Buddy returned to Yellowstone with his Boy Scout troop to attend a jamboree. Buddy had no intention of staying with the scouts and soon he was off on another adventure with his wild animal friends.

Buddy returns to Yellowstone in the fall of 2007. He is now accompanied by his wife Andrea whom he married a year before in the spring.

Buddy has told Andrea everything about his adventures with the wild animals of Yellowstone except that Grizz and Gus can talk.

Andrea soon learns why Buddy’s relationship with Grizz and Gus is so important and why the unusual three some have meant so much to each other over the years.

Grizz

Grizz, a grizzly was born in 1989 in what is now know as his hidden valley, that lies between the Hayden and Pelican Valley, in Yellowstone National Park.

No one seems to know why he was so large at birth and why through his growing years he grew to be so huge. Grizz was no different than any of the other bears except for his size, and he had a mysterious compassion to help other animals that were smaller and not so adaptable to defend them selves.

No one knows why he can talk. It is not known that he can talk until he is 6 years old when he meets a 10 year old boy by the name of Buddy, and, with Grizz’s friend Gus the wolf, the three set off a chain of adventures that cover a span of 12 years.

Gus

Gus the wolf was born in 1991 in the Hayden Valley of Yellowstone Nation Park.

Gus was not any different from other wolf cubs except for his beautiful white coated fur and he always seemed to have an intelligence far superior to the common wolf.

It took very little time in Gus’s growing up years to find a mate and to lead a superior pack of wolves that were exceptional both in cunning and in numbers.

It is not known how or when Gus started to talk or when he first met Grizz and they became friends.

Gus first meets Buddy when Buddy was with Grizz on their first adventure, when Buddy took quills out of Gus’s paw. They then became friends for life.
