Ray and Melodie Satterfield came to Indiana, Pennsylvania in June, 2004, and are
now in their 31st year of pastoral ministry. They previously pastored churches in Washington, PA; Missoula, MT; Coolville,
OH; Ashville, NY; Mentcle, PA; and Wolf Summit, WV.
In addition to his pastoral work, Ray has been secretary of the Allegheny Wesleyan
Methodist Connection since 1998, serves on the Board of DIrectors of Allegheny Wesleyan College (Salem, OH), and as chairman
of the board of Indiana Wesleyan School (Dixonville, PA). He is the author of A Heritage of Holiness - The Story of
Allegheny Wesleyan Methodism, and Stoneboro Camp Meeting--A Century on the Hilltop.
Melodie is
involved in church ministry as a pastor's wife and Junior Worship director. She previously spent her summers holding Vacation
Bible Schools. Melodie enjoys reading, cooking, and being a hostess to the many guests who visit or stay at the parsonage.
Together, Ray and Melodie serve on the planning committee of Marriage Matters Ministries, which
conducts a Marriage Retreat/Seminar each February in Ohio's Amish couintry.
The Satterfields have two adult children--Pamela (married to Glen) Asbury lives in Kokomo, IN, and
is the mother of two-year-old Carli Brooke, the Satterfields only grandchild. Jordan (married to Kayla) Satterfield lives
in King William, VA, where he is pastor of the King William Wesleyan Methodist Church. Each of the families
is expecting a new baby to arrive early next year!
After Pam and Jordan were "grown up," Ray and Melodie became foster parents to two sets of siblings,
keeping two brothers and a sister for a year and a half, and later, two sisters for a year and a half. During this time, the
Satterfields were awarded the distinction of West Virginia "Foster Parents of the Year" for Harrison County. They are
delighted to have been able to maintain contact with these precious children.
