| Dr Charles P Pfleeger |
Dr Charles P Pfleeger is known throughout the world as a computer and information system security analyst,
author and lecturer. Now an independent security consultant and principal of the Pfleeger Consulting Group, he helps bring
together technology, basic principles, and common sense to address current security issues from system design and implementation
to privacy preservation and intellectual property protection.
With over 25 years experience in computer security, he has led and contributed to varied activities, including:
- Author of the best-selling computer security college textbook, Security in Computing, the fourth edition
of which he co-authored with his wife, Dr Shari Lawrence Pfleeger (see the book's web page here)
- Director of European Operations and Head of the Office of Trusted Information Systems (UK) Ltd, subsidiary of Trusted
Information Systems.
- Expert witness on computer security and intellectual property
- Trainer and coach of over 300 candidates who subsequently took and passed the information security certification
exam, CISSP
- Chief architect of the U.K. Ministry of Defence Security in Open Systems Technology Demonstrator Project
- Co-author of the Trusted Virtual Machine Interpretation, a security evaluation criterion for virtual operating
systems
- Developer and Director of the first Tennessee Governor's School for the Sciences, a science enrichment program for gifted

He holds a PhD in computer science from the Pennsylvania State University and the Certified Information Systems Security
