DIRECTIONS TO MALVERN RETREAT HOUSE

Far from the pressures of the modern world, St. Joseph's in the Hills Retreat House in Malvern, Pennsylvania is nestled among the horse farms of Chester County on 125 acres of beautiful grounds.  The Retreat House is located 22 miles west of Philadelphia - just off U.S. 30.  There is frequent train service to nearby Paoli, PA.  The Philadelphia International Airport is approximately a 40-minute drive.

FROM PHILADELPHIA AND POINTS EAST, NORTH AND WEST follow the PA Turnpike to Valley Forge Exit, or the Schuylkill Expressway to the Route 202 S Exit.  Proceed south on Route 202 to the Paoli Exit - Route 252.  Proceed on 252 south to Route 30 W.  Go west onto Route 30 for 4 stoplights to Paoli Pike (Matthew’s Ford).  Bear left onto Paoli Pike and proceed for 3 stoplights.  (Malvern Retreat signs will direct you.)  Turn right at the 3rd stoplight.  This is Warren Avenue.  Follow Warren Avenue until you see the sign: St. Joseph's in the Hills

FROM NEW YORK pick up the NJ Turnpike and connect with the PA Turnpike, then follow directions above.

FROM THE PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Take I-95 S to THE BLUE ROUTE "Route 476 N" to Route 3 (West Chester Pike). Proceed west on Route 3 to Route 252 N.  Proceed on 252 to Route 30 W. Go west (left) onto Route 30 for 4 stoplights to Paoli Pike (Matthews Ford). Bear left onto Paoli Pike and proceed for 3 stoplights. (Malvern Retreat signs will direct you.) Turn right at the 3rd stoplight. This is Warren Avenue. Follow Warren Avenue until you see the sign: St. Joseph's in the Hills.

For those who are familiar with the area I suggest I-95 S to THE BLUE ROUTE "Route 476 N" (toward Plymouth Meeting).  Take US 1 exit Lima / Springfield.  Keep left at the forks.  Merge onto US 1 S / Media Bypass.  Take the PA 252 N exit.  Turn onto N Providence RD / PA 252.  Turn left onto N Providence Rd.  Turn Right onto S Warren Ave.

FROM WILMINGTON, SOUTH JERSEY, AND POINTS SOUTH follow Route 202 N and proceed to the Paoli Pike East Exit.  Follow Paoli Pike until you come to the sign: Malvern Prep.  This is Warren Avenue.  Turn left onto Warren Avenue; St. Joseph's in the Hills Retreat House will be a short distance up on the right

FROM COATESVILLE AND POINTS WEST takes Route 30, past Route 29 and proceed 1/4 mile to stoplight.  Turn right on Old Lincoln Highway Road; go to third road on right - Bridge Street.  Turn right on Bridge Street, go to stop sign, and turn right onto King Street.  At first light, turn left onto Warren Avenue.  Go three blocks to St. Joseph's in the Hills sign on left.

From Penn Center Station take SEPTA's R5 Malvern Local.  Get out at the Malvern Station.  From the Malvern train station; walk up Warren Avenue (approx. 8 min.).

BY BUS

Take the 92 bus from King of Prussia  /West Chester.  Get off at Warren Avenue and King Street. Walk up Warren Ave (about 8 min) to St. Joseph's in the Hills.  SEPTA information 215-580-7800.

PARKING

St Joseph's Hall Parking: From top entrance near Gatehouse. Follow our drive until you see on the left a circle of flowers with a St. Joseph statue in the middle. It is standing in front of St. Joseph's building. Stay to the left of the building and you will be heading towards St. Joseph's Parking lot. Registration is in St. Joseph's Hall Library.

Corrigan Hall Parking: Follow our drive past the Gatehouse on the right hand side you will see Corrigan Hall.  Make a right onto the lane that bears left around Corrigan Hall. (This lane is before the circle with St Joseph's statue). Registration is in St. Joseph's Hall Library.

Our Lady's Parking: In the St. Joseph's lot, you will see (on the right) signs saying, "Dining Room" and "Office". Drive on that side of the parking lot down a narrow path by the office. As you get to the bottom of the path you will see a sign saying “Our Lady's Hall”. Stop there; bring your suitcases inside. Then continue down the hill to the parking lot below (Our Lady's parking lot).  Return to Our Lady's library area for registration.

McShain-Horstmann Family Life Center Parking: Enter through the lower entrance. At the Good Shepherd statue bear right.  The Family Life Center is on the right-hand side (before reaching Our Lady's parking lot).
