The NRA Basic Rifle course: is designed to provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to own and use a specific rifle model safely. We will discuss the principal parts of a rifle, action types, and how they function will be demonstrated. NRA rules for safe gun handling will be explained, applied and adopted through the class for future use when around or using rifles. Handling rifles in a safe manner will be demonstrated. The knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to safely shoot a rifle on the range will be demonstrated. Students will shoot at a target using the five fundamentals of rifle shooting. A practical exercise on safe cleaning a rifle with identified materials will be held. This class also includes the NRA First Steps Rifle.

Total Instruction Time: 14 hours estimated

Fee: $300.00 per person + ammunition.

Course Includes:  NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation Completion Certificate.

A M-4 Colt or Rock River will be provided for on range use.  Never should a firearm be loaded within a classroom, and if on the range, by the authority from an instructor only.  Certificate upon successful completion.
