This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with their handgun.
 
FIRST stands for "Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training," a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. FS Basic Handgun is an introductory course. You will be taught the technique of the modern handgun, focusing on safety, weapons handling, basic pistol presentation and marksmanship skills
 
Course:  This FIRST Steps program is a basic course condensed to the most fundamental shooting skills, and the specifics of a particular model of pistol.  You will be trained and will shoot both the Revolver and Semi-Automatic Handgun in this course.  Students will get the NRA's The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and practical lessons on the safe use, cleaning, and storage of their pistol. Smith and Wesson, Beretta, and Glocks are used.
 
Lesson:  Approximately six hours of this course will be in the classroom, and one hour will be on the range. This is a perfect course for those completely new to firearms, been away from shooting for awhile, and/or for young adults who are interested in learning the shooting sports.
 
Cost:  $200/plus $20 for ammunition - Includes NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Orientation,Completion Certificate, Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Training Program brochure, Targets, eye & ear protection, and range fees included.

Handgun (If needed, we can provide this for you)
