Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little.
I'm somewhere in the middle. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family and local history
and find more of course. I've also learned you have to go a little "public" to get results!
I was born and raised in Dunmore, PA. I grew up listening to my mother's
stories....her friends intrigued me as much as my own friends have. One day I sat listening to my mother and my
uncle talk about the family and realized we didn't have it all written down anywhere. So I scribbled down
the basics and revisited it one day when cleaning out the file cabinet. Then I found a "family tree" that a
then unknown cousin had sent with parts of my family included. Ventured onto Rootsweb.com...found yet another then unknown
cousin in minutes and I was hooked. Then the obsession grew! My kids tell me I need a new hobby but I kinda like
this one. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought
possible! Seems Dunmore was a very small world once. And it's one that interests more than just me as I have
learned. I'll try to add genealogy data as I gather it. Some cemetery records are coming.
This is
a work in progress AND my first website, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.
