This is my web log where I get to comment on or complain about or rejoice in life
as I understand it. My world view is framed by the biblical truth concerning Jesus Christ, as expressed in Paul’s
letter to the Colossian church:
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together (Col. 1:17 RSV)
In this weblog, I hope to explore many things, among them in
particular, something I find to be a peculiar aspect of human social thought and behavior: If you
ask someone what they believe about or where they stand on a certain issue, be it politics or religion or the
family, or whatever, they will almost always be willing to explain their view or understanding of or position
on said issue or topic or social conundrum, but here's the rub. Many times, if you press for the deeper reason(s)
for holding that position, it turns out to be other than - or even opposite - the reason given.
This, then, is the basis for the title, Lies We've Learned To
Love, and a key to what I hope to explore further.
