6/23/08 Yesterday I competed in the Philadelphia Triathlon for the first time.  It was a great race!  We swam in the Schuylkill River, biked in Fairmount Park and ran along Martin Luther King Boulevard.  I had a strong race and finished as the 2nd amateur female, falling just short of the win by 10 seconds!  It was another great learning and racing experience and I was pleased with the result!  My next triathlon is on July 20th in NYC but my next race is this upcoming Saturday - an open water swim mile!  I'm very excited!

6/16/08 I just returned home from a training camp in New Jersey with my coach and some of my teammates!  It was a great time and a fantastic learning experience including a lot of swim technique, something I really need help with!  We did a fair amount of training, had quite a few lectures and of course had loads of fun!  And I never knew New Jersey was so beautiful!  I highly recommend any MarkAllenOnline camp (there are several throughout the year in different locations) if you ever get the chance to attend.

6/02/08 I am happy to report that yesterday, at the Black Bear Sprint Triathlon, I earned an invitation to represent Pennsylvania in the Best of the US Amateur Championships!  By virtue of my win at Black Bear, I was offered the BOUS slot.  The Black Bear race was a great triathlon with a fantastic swim in a clean, clear lake, a challenging bike course that offered up MANY hills, and a scenic run along trails.  I highly recommend it!  Qualifying for the BOUS race was a big goal of mine this year.  Now I will be training hard to ensure that I represent my state well!  My next race is June 22 at the Philadelphia Triathlon.

5/19/08 Yesterday I competed in my 2nd race of the season at the Columbia Triathlon in Maryland.  I had a blast!  I improved 3:49 upon my time from last year which earned me a 2nd place amateur finish and 9th overall including the profressionals!  I was also very pleased to see a big swim improvement, something I've been aiming for for quite some time.  My next race will be June 1 in Leighton, PA.

4/29/08 This past Sunday I started my triathlon season in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida at the St. Anthony's Triathlon!  It was a great start to the year with a 7th place finish among all the amateur women.  My time of 2:14:40 was faster than all my Olympic distance triathlons last season by about 5 minutes!  Very exiciting!  My next triathlon is less than 3 weeks away in Columbia, Maryland.  Triathlon season is finally upon us!

3/29/08 Today I ran a 5K running race on a COLD but beautifully sunny and dry morning!  I had a blast and was surprised how quickly it was over compared to my triathlons!  I ran 18:48 which I was pleased with for this time of year.  I haven't run under 19 minutes for quite some time.  My next race is my first triathlon of the season, St. Anthony's Triathlon in Florida in late April!  Yippeee!

3/7/08 USAT came out with their final age group rankings for the 2007 triathlon season and I am proud to say I have been selected as an All-American again!  Check out the rankings here

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
