2008 Hearing Aid Bills
How You Can Help!

Welcome!

This site is for NJ's Deaf and hard of hearing community and parents of children with hearing loss. It is an online resource for NJ's long overdue injustice....NO insurance coverage for hearing aids!  With your help we can make a difference and join other other states like Conneticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Maine and others that have passed legislation!  Colorado and Delaware PASSED LEGISLATION IN June 2008!

There are 720,000 deaf and hard of hearing people in NJ. PLEASE sign the online petition on the left sidebar! We now have over 8000 signatures!

 *LATEST STATUS IN TRENTON*

As of January 8, 2008 all hearing aid bills were reintroduced in the new legislative session. Since then Grace's Law bills S467 and A1571 have passed all committees in their respective houses and now wait for a vote in the full Senate House and full Assembly house.  Please contact the Senate President, Senator Codey and request that he post S467 in the first Senate session when they return in the Fall 08.  Also contact the Speaker of the House, Assemblyman Roberts and request that he post A1571 in the first Assembly Session in the Fall 08. Please also contact Senator Buono, the Primary Sponsor of S467 and ask her to contact Senator Codey as well.

We have made fantastic strides this year. 2008 may be our year!

Please note all of the new hearing aid bill numbers and contact all of the representatives for their support of HAIL.

I'll make changes to this site periodically sharing the latest status on HAIL, how you can help the cause, etc. Be sure to bookmark this site. Also visit www.graceslaw.com The Grace's Law website has even more information and all of the press coverage for this bill! Check back often!

Thanks to all those who have supported this cause in the past with letters, advice, petition signatures, and unwavering hope. Together we can make a difference!
