The first steps toward achieving your goals

We are here to help you get fit, to help you get lean, to give you the tools you need to improve your health and the knowledge you need to achieve the body you've always wanted.

Our goal is to help you take control of your life in a very positive way!

What are the elements in achieving a positive change?

There are many.  Let's just stick with the essentials!  They are: what you think, what you eat and what you do!

Sharing a strategy for establishing a pattern of healthful living that you can sustain with minimal effort is at the heart of what we do.

What you think

Turning your desires into a belief that you can accomplish your goals is foremost.  A powerful step in achieving success is being able imagine how everything will be when you are a success.  Close your eyes and start to explore it.  What is it like?

Belief is a powerful tool that helps you to stay in the right mental state so that you can more easily do the things you need to do in order to accomplish your dreams.

Some of the roadblocks to belief are misinformation, misconceptions, myths, and downright lies that we are exposed to through media and even from our good-intentioned friends.

In order to succeed, you have to use the right tools for the outcome you desire.  You need to understand why as well as how the technology of positive change works so you are no longer a victim to all the misinformation.  Lastly, you need to have the belief that what you are doing will help you reach your goals so that you can stay focused on achieving your personal success.

What you eat and What you do

There are over 30,000 diets in America.  The rate of success for those using these diets is only 5%.  The reason for such a low rate of success is that almost every one of those diets relies on a gimmick that is ineffective for achieving true and lasting results.  Almost none of them have any record of long-term success.

A true, effective strategy will empower and teach while it gets results.  Most of all, an effective strategy will focus on a long-term result.  Effective strategies are distinguishable from ineffective ones by looking at the factors involved in the strategy.

There are 3 basic components that must be a part of any strategy focused on a health and fitness goal in order for it to be effective in either the short or the long-term:

- Supportive nutrition

- Moderate aerobic exercise

- A concern for muscle

Any program that does not include all three will not stimulate a healthful and long lasting fitness result.

So, what do those things mean?

Supportive Nutrition
This means eating in a manner that supports health, fat burning, muscle tone and growth, and that supports your desired goal.

The basics of supportive nutrition are that you eat small, balanced meals frequently throughout the day.

"Balanced" means that every meal should contain:
A lean protein
A fibrous carbohydrate
A starchy carbohydrate

Ideally you would eat supportively every 3 to 3 1/2 hours.  Obviously, the portion sizes would be smaller than your standard 3-meals a day serving sizes.

Many people wince when they first hear that they should try to eat every 3 hours.  Eating supportively every few hours does a number of things for the body.  It allows the body to shift into a state where it is more willing to surrender fat stores, and where it becomes easy to tone, shape, and add muscle.  Amazingly, it also causes the body to burn more calories.

Moderate Aerobic Exercise
This refers to doing a small amount of aerobic exercise.  Many people think of aerobic exercise as "the way" to burn fat.  While you might burn a small amount of fat doing aerobic exercise, a far greater amount of fat can be burned during the 23-1/2 plus hours that you are not doing aerobic exercise than you are likely to burn when doing it.  Additionally, many people who do excessive aerobics are actually burning muscle and a small amount of fat.

Instead, think of aerobic exercise as a way to make the many systems of the body that support being healthy, fit, and lean run more efficiently!

Doing a small, but not excessive, amount of aerobic exercise, especially when done immediately after any resistance exercise, can play a key role in insuring that the body is able to perform optimally in helping you achieve your dreams.

A Concern for Muscle
This refers to performing some form of resistance training for the muscles of the body.  This training would be done in a progressive manner, meaning it would be done in a fashion that continually challenges the body.

Muscle is the location on the body where fat is burned.  It strengthens and protects the body, in fact, it creates the shape of the body.  Muscle is responsible for our ability to move, and moving plays a key role in the functioning of the immune system.  No matter what your desired goal, maintaining, training, toning, shaping, and protecting muscle will play a roll in your success.

The Synergy
Synergy describes an outcome that is greater than the sum of the parts.  Alone, each of these components would not amount to a lasting and effective means for positive physical change.  Combining any two, though a potent recipe for change, would still not amount to the powerful results experienced through the synergistic effect of combining all three of these basic components.

For a better understanding of how these components work together and how you can use them, take a look at the programs page!
