Also know as the Catoctin Station lock. Named so after the Catoctin train
station that use to sit behind the lock house on the B & O Railroad. This lock is located 50.9 miles north of Georgetown
in Washinton, D.C.. What attracted me to do this painting is the way shadows play on the lock and the intense contrast of
the sun shining on the ruins of the lock walls.

Detail of Frame
"Lock House # 29" is painted only with color pencils using a dry technique. This means
at no time was water used to soften the pigments.
I chose a heavy weight Strathmore paper,
23" X 28". It is double matted and elegantly framed, over all dimension being 35" X 40". A perfect edition to any office
or home.
