This set
of images is of Aqueduct No. 1 on the Juniata Division
of the Main Line Canal I made this sketch at the time I was researching a trip to the site of the aqueduct. I am still planning a trip out when
I get some time. The picture has been in my head since I was a child. One of the books I had, as a kid was “On the Main
Line” in there are several pictures of the old Pennsylvania Canal. I just always liked this picture and recently found
that the site still exists. This image was sketched from my head so it is more of an impression of what the original photo
was like.
The
finished piece is 10 x 13 with a silver frame. The cost is $79.90

This set of images is called Bridge over the Susquehanna” The
Susquehanna is a local river that passes past Harrisburg, Columbia and Wrightsville. The sketch is to represent an impression
of a typical bridge crossing the Susquehanna River. However, after writing the title on the piece I realized I should have
come up with another title. There are a few minor flaws in the details of this piece. #1 the bridge should be much longer,
the Susquehanna River is a mile wide in areas therefore this bridge should have many more arches. So I consider this piece
to be more like a bridge along the Susquehanna, crossing a tributary that would spill into the Susquehanna River. The finished piece is 9 x 11 with a silver frame. The cost is $76.75
