Currently, I am employed part-time at Graphic Crafts. They
are a trade bindery. I was hired full-time in 1994 as a cutter operator. However, I do so much more. In a
typical day, I may cut paper on a 40" Polar guiliteen cutter. Then I may move onto one of two Dick Moll
Pocket Folders. Some days, I may be operating the Tunker mounting posters to chip board or foam board. On other days, I can
be found helping in shipping or were ever I am needed. In 2005, I chose to go part-time, due to the deterioration
of my knees.
In 1995, I rented studio space from Mulberry Art Studios (web address)http://www.mulberryartstudios.com/ I am currently still located on the lower level (Basement). Over the years, I have tried several
approaches to make the Studio more profitable. I started with T-Shirts sales then did some sign painting. I moved on
to Commercial art for a few years and even tried Amway and Hope (Gas Cards) in the attempt to make a profit. All the while,
I continued practicing my Color Pencil work (my choosen media). I will go into the explaination of my medium choice (Color
pencils) and why a little later.
Update: After 13 years at Mulberry Art Studios I have decided to move the business
home to be closer to my family. I will still be providing all the same services as before the move, just in a different location.
I would also like to become more involved in shows. This move from Mulberry was not an easy decision to make. I have been
at Mulberry for what seems my whole life. I have a lot of good memories tied up there. April and her staff have been very
supprtive throughout the years.
In 1987, I met my wife. We married in 1992. She had our first
child in 1993 and our second in 1996. I continued to support our family through my art and full-time job until my wife finished
schooling for her teaching career. After she graduated, we purchased our own home and I began working part-time for
the first time in my life. I use this time to bring in a few bucks and the other half of the day I spend developing
my business.
