JOHN
STRAWBRIDGE is an educator and author with over twenty years experience in Theatre, Film & TV. He is the Creative
Director of Campanile Media, the Artistic Director of Actors Company Theatre, and a Consulting Artistic Director for the Education and Entertainment Foundation [501(c)(3)].
His
first book “The Audition Book: What Casting Directors Are Really Looking For” is available on Amazon.com.
He
has directed projects for Stage and Screen in MD, DC and VA, mostly recently the short film “Convergence”
and as 2nd Unit Director on the Indie Feature “Come Hell or High Water”. He currently is in development on his next feature; “Washington’s Ax”.
As
an Associate Casting Director, his resume includes “The Wire”, “HOMICIDE: Life on the Street”,
Wedding Crashers, Superman Returns,
and many other Features, TV shows and Pilots for HBO, NBC, ABC, Fox, Warner Bros., Universal, Disney, etc.
He
has taught classes in the business of Acting throughout the region for organizations such as The SAG Conservatory
(DC), The Actors’ Center (DC), The Smithsonian Associates, Women in Film and Video (MD), ITVA, Actors Company Theatre,
LTA (VA), Stevenson University, Towson University, Howard Community College, Baltimore Co. Community College, UMBC, and Film
in the City (NY).
John
is a recipient of the Actors' Center 2001 Theatre Distinction Award. He has received two Best Director nominations for his stage work in VA, and several Honorable
Mentions for his screenplays. His casting work has been nominated three times
for Emmys™ and other industry awards.
