I’ve been meaning to write an
entry long before today, but I’ve been waiting for material. I’d hoped
to be able to announce that my final submission for the Ex Factor anthology, The
Cosmo Effect, had been accepted. But as of this date, I haven’t
heard. I find this odd because to hit an October 13 publication date, production
wheels need to start churning pretty quickly. (We haven't even seen contracts yet!)
But waiting is part of the game. No one tells you this when you sit down to write seriously. For me, the waiting is the hardest part of writing. Write
a story, submit it, and then wait. Sometimes the waits are short. Sometimes, the waits are ridiculously long. Sometimes they
just seem that way. And even though there are plenty of other stories to write while the waiting goes on, I'm still
waiting.
So, while wonder when I might
hear from this particular publisher, I will move onto my next project.
Mummies!
That’s right, mummies. Deana Hoover is assembling an anthology, tentatively titled My Little Book of the Dead,
which will feature short mummy stories by a variety of authors. More to come
on this project as it moves forward.
Till next time,
Jill.
