The Nature of God

In the United States, about 6% of the population are either agnostic or atheists. That is; they are not sure if God truly exists, or believe there is no God. In some countries, over 80% of the population do not believe in God. Many people feel this way because their concept of God does not agree with their concept of science. They have problems with the statement that God “always was and always will be.” They cannot conceive how God can be “everywhere.” These facts and others challenge the belief system for many people. However, that does need to be the case. There are circumstances that one can conceive regarding the nature of God that mesh perfectly with science.

All living inhabitants of this planet are carbon-based individuals. That is, their bodies consist of proteins, amino acids, and other stuff, that are assembled according to the instruction code in their DNA to make them what they are. Most agnostics and atheists believe that this complex instruction code is the result of random mutations. Personally, I have a big problem with that concept. Science tells us that the earliest living things on this planet were very simple single celled creatures. Over time, their DNA developed and changed. This enabled these creatures to evolve into more complex beings.

What developed first in these simple beings? After all, a heart is of no use without a circulatory system. A circulatory system is useless without blood. Blood has little value without a method of cleaning and replenishing it. And on and on…Therefore, all of these systems must have come in existence at about the same time. I think it is extremely unlikely that these systems all mutated into existence at one time. A more likely scenario is that the DNA was introduced/implanted/changed (take your pick) by a superior/Supreme Being. You’re thinking it could have been a superior race and not God that changed the DNA, right? That’s true but how did that superior race get their start?

That brings us down to the final point. What is the true nature of God? I believe that God is an energy based being. That satisfies the biblical description that God “always was and always will be,” because energy, according to Einstein, can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore, energy “always was and always will be.” Energy is all around us, it’s everywhere. Sound familiar?

Of course, there’s is a lot more to the story, but this is not intended to be an all inclusive piece, just a glimpse into what I believe about the nature of God. May God (and His Positive Energy) be with you!
