Directions to the park are from I-95  to the PetersburgWythe St. exit( exit 52). left at exit.go straight approx2.5 miles. park entrance is on right. 
Take a left at the exit from the park and you are less than 100 yards for an entrance to I-95 north or south.
  There is a fee for entering the park.
   $5 for one visit or $15 for a season pass.

All trails are currently open and in excellent shape ad the park personel have been working on spots to improve whats there. the lower side of Poor Creek trail is closed until July 15 again due to the  bald eagle preservation act.
 The tour road construction is finished and is smooth as glass for riding or walking.
 there have been some permanent bathrooms added to the park. one at the horse trailer lot, one at the Sutler store lot near the center of the tour road and one at the crater tour stop
   This area will be updated if trail/road conditions change.

 anyone who wants to volunteer  for the bicycle or horseback patrol can contact the park. they are both great programs that can always use more volunteers

  this is a beginner to intermediate ride with lots of history mixed in as well as being open to horse back riders, hikers, and runners. if you dont come for the ride, run or the history come for the sheer beauty and tranqulity of the park.
 you just may see white tail deer, all kids of birds, squirrels, racoons, a fox or two as well as a pair of bald eagles that nest in the park 
   I hope to see you on the trails
