11-7-1849  Norfolk County Deed: 193:251
Amos Shumway yeoman to Asa Cole laborer, Artemas Brown physician, and Orion Mason manufacturer ¾ part of 1 acre "where the horse sheds are now located behind the West Parish Meetinghouse” $150.

11-21-1849  Norfolk County Deed: 193:251 Asa Cole and Orion Mason to Samuel Metcalf yeoman 2/4 of 1 acre “except that portion of said land now enclosed by horse sheds and fence” $40.

03/01/1850  Norfolk County Deed: 198:244 Amos Shumway to Samuel Metcalf ½ acre.

06/29/1850  Norfolk County Deed: 197:1 Artemas Brown to Samuel Metcalf ¼ part of 1 acre.
 
Samuel Metcalf died 3-18-1883  Probate # 23370.  
Executors inventory listed land with house and outbuildings.  His wife, Delia, executor, inherited half the real estate, including 2 rooms on the lower floor on the south side of the house, the framed woodhouse on the northeast side of the house, and the well – as long as she remains a widow.  His son Samuel Newman inherited the other half.  Samuels brother, Austin Metcalf lived as #5 Highland.  Executors inventory:  house and lot with outbuildings ($1000.)  Norfolk County maps for 1853 and 1876 list S. Metcalf.
