The Timothy Mann house circa 1839 is located at 2 Milford St.
In 1822 Ralph Mann, who at that time owned most of the Northwest corner of Rabbit Hill, sold 4.5 acres of woodland near the West Parish Meetinghouse (Community Church 1814) to Daniel Nourse,  yeoman.  In the early deeds the buyer and seller’s professions were mentioned.  A yeoman, at that time, was considered to be a member of the class of lesser freeholders who cultivated their own land.  In 1836, Daniel Nourse sold .075 acre of his 4.5 acres of land (with well rights) on the new road (Milford Street) from the West Parish Meetinghouse to Milford to Joel Partridge (of 2B Oak Street).  The following year 1837, Joel sold an enlarged lot (2 Milford  -  ¼ acre with well rights) to Timothy Mann, gentleman.  When Timothy applied for a mortgage in 1843, he owned a dwelling house on Milford Road.   The 1850 census shows Timothy married to Susan, with a child Harriet.  His occupation is listed as farmer.  In 1837, David Nourse sold ¾ acre of land just west of Timothy Manns lot to Joseph Partridge, who had already erected a dwelling house and barn on the land (4 Milford).
