16 Milford the John Adams House
In 1850, John Adams, bootmaker, lived here with his wife Eliza Cresey (m.1832), and 5 children and 4 boarders, 1 from Canada and 3 from Ireland, all bootmakers.  Maps of Medway in 1858 show “Adams Livery Stable” on the property.  By 1870, only John and Eliza live there and the census lists his occupation as “stablekeeper”.

In 1850, Timothy Pond, a bootmaker, lived here with his wife Eliza J Creecy (m.1844) and two children Alfred and John, and a boarder from Ireland John McGinley, also a bootmaker.  They lived here 17 years.
