22 Franklin Street
Above and below are photos of 22 Franklin Street.  The above photo was take in 1903 and shows the Blacksmith shop that was there in 1903.  Below is a current picture of the house at 22 Franklin Street.  I believe this to be the old David Partridge blacksmith shop circa 1835.  The house was part of #24 Franklin on the 1876 map of Medway.

88 rods, no building listed $100.  On road to Franklin, start  9 rods south of  Parish House on road, 11 rods east, 8 rods south, 11 rods west back to road.
 
08/03/1835    Norfolk County Deed:  114:154
David Partridge, yeoman to Joel Partridge, yeoman
88 rods.  “David reserves the use of the shop until the first day of September next.”  Joel Partridge died 08/19/1852
 
04/01/1853    Norfolk County Deed:  216:153
Partridge heirs (Stephen Partridge, Sarah Ann Partridge Bullard, Lydia Sanford Partridge) to Clark Partridge
08 rods $666.  “few rods south of the Parish House on road leading from said West Medway to Franklin… 2 story dwelling house and blacksmith shop.”
 
4-1-1854    Norfolk County Deed:  240:10
Clark Partridge to William Everett, blacksmith, 108 rods $1140.
“a two story dwelling house and blacksmith shop, south of the Parish House”. William Everett and Abigail Wiggins married in 1839, and in 1860 were living at this address with their four children Charles, Ellen, Abbi, and William.  They were still living there in 1888.

This house was on the Northeast corner of Village & Franklin Streets.  It was the Jabez Shumway house which was torn down about 1910.  The photo circa 1910 was donated by Francis Donovan.
